Landscape Forms, North America’s leading designer and manufacturer of premium site furniture, structure, lighting, and accessories, introduces Basic, a lightweight, durable and comfortable line of outdoor benches and tables created by Barcelona-based design partner, Urbidermis.

Embodying a rational economy of design and materials, Basic brings elevated quality, durability and style to simple, adaptable outdoor site furnishings. Crafted solely form cast and extruded aluminum, the benches and tables are lightweight, easily configurable, and able to confidently withstand intensive use and adverse weather conditions. Designed by esteemed father-and-son team Miguel and Gonzalo Milá for Urbidermis, the line is clean, refined and softly industrial, intended to bring subdued sophistication to settings both urban and natural, modern and traditional.

"Our relationship with Urbidermis goes back a long time, and Basic is the exact type of solution we look for in our Barcelona-based partner,” says Landscape Forms Chief Innovation Officer, Kirt Martin. "It offers a distinctly European aesthetic that nothing else in our portfolio quite has, and we’re excited for the opportunity to bring this desirable look, feel and unique set of performance characteristics to the U.S. market.”

Available in backed and backless styles, the Basic bench is composed of softly rounded extruded aluminum slats firmly affixed by two symmetrical die-cast aluminum support structures. Showcasing the same material and ergonomic qualities as the Basic bench, the Basic table reinforces the line’s commitment to simplicity, lightness and durability while still comfortably gathering groups for work, dining and relaxation across its broad tabletop area.

"Basic occupies a really useful in-between space in our portfolio,” describes Landscape Forms Director of Design, Ryan Heiser. "Robust yet considerably lighter than our typical bench and table solutions, it’s ideal for hospitality, campus, multi-family residential, and other applications that require adaptability alongside elevated quality and durability.”

A prioritization of efficiency appears throughout the Basic line — from its design and manufacturing, to its utility, maintenance and user experience. Lightweight, all-aluminum construction means Basic elements are not only easier to handle by users in situ, but also more efficient to transport and more sustainable to manufacture. Thoughtful flatpack design further reduces emissions due to shipping and transportation, while still coming together intuitively and with minimal fasteners. Finished with Landscape Forms’ proprietary Pangard II ® polyester powdercoat in a wide variety of colors, Basic offers industry-leading surface durability and color retention with low-to-no maintenance. And due to its 100% recyclable, mono-material design, Basic simplifies the sustainable reuse of materials at the end of a long, beautiful and useful life.
