Landscape Forms, North America’s leading designer and manufacturer of high-design site furniture, structure, lighting and accessories, announces a new partnership with Emeco, the iconic American furniture maker whose handcrafted recycled aluminum furniture has defined a standard for strength, simplicity and longevity since 1944.

Through the partnership, a curated selection of Emeco’s outdoor-ready furniture will be available to specify and purchase through Landscape Forms, including select products from the 1006 Navy, Navy Lounge, and 1 Inch collections, as well as the Heritage Rocking Chair. The offering brings Emeco’s distinctive aluminum craft, longevity and design heritage to the landscape architecture and outdoor public space communities. The selection includes chairs, stools, lounge seating, sofas and tables suited to a range of hospitality, dining, campus, workplace and public space environments.

For Landscape Forms, the partnership reflects a shared commitment to design integrity, American craft manufacturing, sustainability, durability and long-term value in the built environment.

“Emeco is a natural fit for us because so many of our values run in parallel,” says Ryan Heiser, Design Director at Landscape Forms. “They're a heritage brand, a U.S. manufacturer and a company deeply committed to craft and durability. Their furniture brings a unique precision in aluminum manufacturing, along with the kind of lightweight, indoor-outdoor versatility and long-life performance that can support cafés, hospitality spaces, campuses and public environments in ways that are very complementary to our portfolio.”

Gregg Buchbinder, owner of Emeco, echoes enthusiasm for the new partnership, saying, “We’re excited to join forces with Landscape Forms to bring Emeco’s age-proof, weather-proof, trend-proof furniture to more outdoor spaces and help landscape architects create lasting, functional outdoor environments that also sit lightly on the planet.”

The curated Landscape Forms offering brings together four distinct expressions of Emeco’s enduring design language. The 1006 Navy collection carries the original Navy Chair’s iconic silhouette, hand-brushed aluminum finish and all-weather performance into a wide variety of high-use public settings. Navy Lounge, redesigned by Jasper Morrison from Emeco’s 1940s sofa series, extends that heritage into upholstered lounge chairs and sofas for more relaxed indoor-outdoor environments. The 1 Inch collection, also designed by Jasper Morrison, iterates on Emeco’s timeless design language and construction in a versatile line of stools and tables for cafés, terraces and flexible gathering spaces. The Heritage Rocking Chair designed by Philippe Starck complements the classic 1006 Navy Chair® with a familiar American typology built for comfort, conversation and multiple lifetimes of enjoyment as a modern heirloom.

“Landscape architects are designing more fluid spaces than ever before,” Heiser adds. “Outdoor rooms, dining terraces, hospitality settings, campuses and workplace environments all need furniture that can move naturally between uses and atmospheres. Our selection of Emeco’s products brings an elegant solution to that need—lightweight, highly durable, beautifully made furniture with a design language that has already proven it can stand the test of time.”

About Emeco

Founded on the principle “Begin with what’s left over, turn it into what will last”, American furniture maker Emeco has been crafting durable furniture from recycled aluminum for over 80 years. In the throes of World War II, the U.S. Navy needed a place to sit. Emeco took on the challenge and in 1944 the 1006 Navy Chair® was born. Built by hand at Emeco’s factory in Hanover, Pennsylvania, to withstand the tough life aboard ships and submarines, the chair was tested to last 150 years. It’s been in continuous production ever since. And as it turns out, what works for one demanding environment, also suits many, many others. Today, Emeco keeps crafting furniture from recycled aluminum - what was once a wartime necessity is now a planet necessity. To live up to the standards inherited from their founders, the Emeco team is continuously exploring new solutions for turning waste materials into strong, simple and useful furniture. Together with some of the world’s leading architects and designers, Emeco strives to make the best furniture possible that also sits lightly on the planet.
