Kalamazoo, MI – April 9, 2018 – Landscape Forms announces that Torres lighting has just won a 2018 Red Dot Award for Product Design. This is the second award that Torres has received since its launch.
Torres, designed by industrial designer Rodrigo Torres in collaboration with lighting designer Chip Israel, is a graceful, minimalist design that quietly take their place within a composition—a beautiful complement to urban landscapes and traditional and contemporary architecture. The line includes area lights that are available in two sizes, with single or dual luminaires, and in 12’, 14’, 16’, 20’, and 25’ pole heights. A 3’ tall path light, wall light, and catenary light round out the family created to enhance outdoor experience both day and night.
“Rodrigo’s design is quietly expressive with a universal and intentional appeal that complements a range of architectural styles and urban landscapes,” says Landscape Forms Vice President of Design and Marketing, Kirt Martin. “It’s an honor to receive a Red Dot Award! We are very happy for both Rodrigo and Chip.”
Part of Landscape Forms ever growing group of award-winning lighting products for outdoor pedestrian spaces, Torres lights share a resemblance while each light’s LED array and optics are designed for their individual applications. Each luminaire offers superior visibility, minimal glare, and no uplight.
"We're honored to be awarded with the Red Dot Award for the Torres lighting line,” shares Industrial Designer, Rodrigo Torres. “This award is one of the most prestigious recognitions of design excellence in the world. Winning it speaks to the passion and talent that the whole team at Landscape Forms put into the development and production of this amazing collection of luminaries – each sharing an essential beauty that will appropriately light the different environments in which it will be present."
The luminaire’s output, aiming angles, high color rendering, and warm white light create a sense of comfort and security. LED technology accommodates adaptive lighting and complies with occupancy codes. Lights have cast aluminum frames with a powdercoat finish and are offered in a selection of colors.
Torres proudly joins the roster of other Red Dot Award winning Landscape Forms products, including the MultipliCITY collection.

In order to assess the diversity in the field of design in a thorough and professional manner, the award breaks down into three competitions: the Red Dot Award: Product Design, Red Dot Award: Communication Design and Red Dot Award: Design Concept – each is organized once a year. From products to communication projects to design concepts and prototypes, the Red Dot Award documents the most prominent trends worldwide. The award-winning designs are exhibited in the Red Dot Design Museums.
