Landscape Forms’ Lakeside Planter Wins 2016 BOY Award
Kalamazoo, MI - December 13, 2016 - Landscape Forms is proud to announce that its Lakeside Planter has won a Best of Year (BOY) award in Outdoor Furniture from Interior Design Magazine. The BOY awards program honors the year’s best products and projects with winners determined by a panel of Interior Design editors. The planter is a fresh new addition to the popular Lakeside line of site elements designed by award-winning architect, Margaret McCurry.
Landscape Forms’ Vice President of Design and Marketing, Kirt Martin, says, “It’s an honor to receive a BOY Award! The entire Landscape Forms team is happy and excited for Margaret and her talented team!”
Lakeside is inspired by familiar themes in nature, architecture and historic design. Alongside Lakeside benches and litter receptacles, the planter is ideally suited to settings ranging from village greens and small-town parks, to resorts, waterfront developments and college campuses. It has a simple cylinder shell, 36” in diameter and 23” high, made of 10-gauge rolled sheet steel and a robust roto-molded liner. A flat 1 1/2” steel lip welded around the top perimeter of the shell covers the edge of the liner and provides a refined design detail. The shell provides structure and a surface for decorative patterns incised by state-of-the-art plasma-cutting technology. Standard patterns of graceful grasses or falling leaves offer whimsical reflections of the environment. Special patterns can be created, providing unique opportunities to customize Lakeside for signature applications. The Lakeside Planter proudly joins the roster of BOY award winning Landscape Forms products, including the 2015 winner FGP Bike Rack, 2014 winner Reeder Wayfinding, and 2013 winner Olithas.
