Kalamazoo, MI – May 6, 2019 – Landscape Forms is pleased to introduce L I N E landscape panels, the newest member of its structure category. The timeless, minimalist form of L I N E landscape panels delineates space, provides enclosure, and gives landscape architects a new medium with which to express their unique visions.
“Landscape Forms considers the full spectrum of site elements, encompassing not only furniture and lighting, but also structure,” says Landscape Forms President and CEO Richard Heriford. “Our business model is to become the go-to resource for landscape structure. With LINE, we’re offering landscape architects well-designed and engineered structure elements with the ability to customize panels to create their own.”
L I N E landscape panels are designed by Shane Coen and Coen + Partners, recipients of the Smithsonian Cooper Hewitt National Design Award for Landscape Architecture in 2015 and an Emerging Voices Award from the Architectural League of New York in 2009. A signature of Coen + Partners’ projects are minimalist, repetitive, and artful boundary elements. “We create lines and create edges in much of our work,” explains Coen. “We celebrate natural elements by creating geometric, minimal lines running through them. Boundary elements don’t often get the attention other site elements do. With LINE, we set out to design an intentional and timeless part of the entire site design,” says Coen.
“In defining space, landscape architects have had hardscape, greenscape, and furniture as their tool set,” says
Landscape Forms Chief Creative Officer Kirt Martin. “LINE falls between these options, creating boundary and incorporating art into the role of space division. Previous boundary choices have been utilitarian; now we have beautiful panels that delineate and define space.”
The LINE offering includes vertical and horizontal rod and slatted, louvered, perforated, and solid steel panels in 4’ x 6’ and 6’ x 4’ sections with a broad color palette and multiple finish options. Footings, hinges, doors, and locks are included in the standard offering, giving landscape architects a new tool to define space in artful ways. LINE’s design flexibility supports customization of panel patterns and sizes.
