Landscape Forms' Connect 2.0 Shelter Brings Scalability, Flexibility to the Transit Space.
Kalamazoo, MI – April 20, 2022 – Landscape Forms, North America’s leading designer and manufacturer of high-design site furniture, structure, LED lighting, and accessories, is leading the way in developing a modular alternative solution for transit systems. Created in collaboration with Designworks, a BMW Group Company, Connect 2.0 shelters deliver multi-configurable seating and shelter solutions that activate public spaces.
"We’re recognizing the immense potential in creating thoughtfully-designed solutions that can scale and adapt to their surroundings without the need for custom, one-off engineering,” says Landscape Forms Chief Creative Officer, Kirt Martin. “And nowhere is this insight more relevant than in the transit space, where tailoring individual stops to specific traffic and spatial needs—while maintaining a cohesive visual language—is key to the success of these systems."
Across its breadth of possibilities, Connect 2.0’s minimalist design intent remains clear—let visual simplicity and sophistication shine while quietly complementing surrounding architecture and landscaping. It's a timeless expression that elevates people's transportation and outdoor experiences with the physical and aesthetic adaptability to enhance the branding of transit systems in public and private settings alike.
Within transit systems, municipalities, on corporate, healthcare, and university campuses, and across a variety of other public and private outdoor spaces, Connect 2.0 simplifies the creation of relevant, modern transportation systems through the shelters’ specific focus on modularity and scalability. Connect 2.0 utilizes an innovative center support system to easily expand and contract based on a client’s and site’s needs, all while still maintaining a clean and intentional design presence. Modular bays create shelters in 8’, 12’, 16’ and 24’ lengths, enabling Connect 2.0 to offer the specificity of a custom shelter solution with greater value and simplicity of specification.
In addition to its scalability, Connect 2.0 offers integrated and layered LED lighting to subtly illuminates sidewalks, curbs, and the shelter’s interior and immediate surroundings. Lights can be powered via grid or solar panels. Different configurations of tempered laminated safety glass side panels offer varying degrees of enclosure while maintaining an open and airy visual presence. Glass, honeycomb aluminum panel, and aluminum louvered roof options create unique design statements that also address site requirements and climate conditions.
