Kalamazoo, MI - Landscape Forms, North America’s largest designer and manufacturer of site furniture is based in Kalamazoo, and its popular Maggie benches are among the exciting new design features included in the new Kalamazoo/Battle Creek International Airport.
Kalamazoo has a vibrant art community, and the designers of the space found ways to incorporate a design theme into the interior of the building. Local artists and designers are involved as well and have added unique art features, such as specially designed terrazzo flooring, interior papier-mâché sculptures, custom etched glass and the Landscape Forms benches. Using the bench as canvas, some of those local artists have painted scenes in their own style and the benches will be placed indoors.
This amazing new community landmark will be unveiled to special guests invited by the design firm, SKP Interiors, to attend a private event celebrating the Art Features of the new airport. The general public is invited that same day, Thursday April 21, from 7:30 pm – 10:00 pm. The airport will be fully open on May 1, 2011.
