Additions to the Popular Outdoor Table with Attached Seating Bring Fresh Energy, Expanded Capability and Casual Comfort to Campus Settings
Kalamazoo, MI – August 31, 2017 - Landscape Forms, North America’s premier designer and manufacturer of high-design site elements and advanced LED lighting, is pleased to announce the addition of three new elements that make the perennially popular and all-time best selling Carousel Table line refreshingly relevant to the changing ways people use outdoor space today. A new lounge seat, two new table heights, a 30” tabletop, square tops, and a wood top option bring a fresh, vibrant spirit and a multi-dimensional point of view. “Landscape Forms pioneered the carousel-style table with attached seating for outdoor use,” Landscape Forms President, Richard Heriford declares. “These enhancements to a company classic promote interaction and provide opportunities to create more casual settings on the campuses where Carousel has always been a favorite.”
Original Carousel is a 48” round dining height table with four attached seats and the ability to omit seats to accommodate a wheelchair. Additions to the line by the Landscape Forms Design Team share all the Carousel family traits: attached table and seating, contoured mesh seat design, robust steel construction and resilient powder coat finish. The new Carousel Hoop Seat adds a lounge chair encircled by a rolled frame that doubles as an armrest. It is a companion to the new Casual Height Table, in-between coffee table and dining table height, designed to address the way people position themselves for resting, reading or working on a laptop. The new Standing Height Table has attached stool seats and a ring around the base at footrest height for the comfort of sitters and standees, who can rest one foot up to balance weight while socially engaged. Both the Casual and Standing Height Tables are available with a 30” table top option, well suited to their more informal use. In addition to the new smaller size, square wood tabletops are now offered for the first time, in both 30” and 48” sizes. The square top addresses Landscape Forms research which shows that users are more likely to take a seat at a partially occupied square table than at a round one, because the square implies less intimacy. Square tables have slatted wood tops, for special warmth and beauty. All round tables are available with metal and wood tops, and all table tops have an optional center hole to accommodate umbrellas.
“We wanted to give Carousel a fresh, casual and youthful feel,” explains Kirt Martin, Landscape Forms Vice President of Design and Marketing. “And we are responding to the multiple postures people prefer as they enjoy outdoor spaces for a wider range of activities. The new Casual Height Table is based on our observation of college campuses where people tend to lean in briefly toward the table, then relax back into their seats. There is something magical about that height and its relation to the ground plane that promotes easy interaction. The Standing Height Table provides an easy social space where people can come and go, have a chat or a drink and enjoy the company.”
Carousel has long been a preferred choice for college, corporate and healthcare campuses. Facility Managers particularly value the attached seating that prevents elements from being scattered or stolen, and durability that ensures long life with little maintenance and excellent appearance over time. Now the expanded collection of Standing, Dining and Casual Height tables, the new Hoop lounge seat, round and square tabletops in two sizes, and a choice of wood or metal tops make it possible to create a suite of complimentary settings that support a variety of activities and interactions with a common design vocabulary throughout a site. Carousel table heights and seating options can be combined in an array of configurations to suit specific project requirements. All steel components are finished with Landscape Forms proprietary Panguard II™ polyester powder coat in a selection of colors from the standard Landscape Forms color palette.
