LANDSCAPE FORMS WILL DISPLAY UNIQUE SMART SHELTER AT APTA EXPO IN SAN DIEGO
Kaleidoscope Smart Shelter is Appealing to Transportation Projects


     Kalamazoo, MI – Landscape Forms, a designer, manufacturer and marketer of award-winning commercial outdoor furniture and accessories, will focus attention on its exhibition of a near life-sized photo of a product especially designed for transportation-based projects, the Kaleidoscope Smart Shelter, at the APTA EXPO in San Diego, CA from October 5 – 8, 2008. The Kaleidoscope Smart Shelter is currently installed at LAX airport and can be seen near Terminal C.

     Kaleidoscope Smart Shelter features integrated solar powered lighting provided by advanced light-emitting diode (LED) technology. Wireless, off-the-grid technology translates savings on installation, maintenance and energy costs and assures that even during power outages the LED lights will continue to glow. Microprocessor technology automatically turns lights on at dusk and off at dawn and an "intelligent energy management system" calibrates light output to the amount of energy in storage to ensure uninterrupted function.

     In addition, Landscape Forms will feature transit-related products in its exhibition space, Booth #2755. Those products will be the recently launched Redline bench and the Parc Vue litter.

     Redline captures the sense of movement and muscular energy of the urban environments. Its design language compliments the glass and metal of contemporary architecture, and it addresses the demand for sophisticated, strong, and easy to maintain furniture for urban transit spaces.

     Parc Vue receptacles are sculptural in design and robust in function. Its design references the classic wire mesh basket in an up-to-date cut steel cage with graceful urn-shaped liner. The receptacle may also be used without liner and with clear trash bag to meet transit security requirements.
